The Italian Video Game Awards Go Global for the 10th Edition with Renowned International Media Partner Video Games Chronicle

Milan, 29 June 2022: Italian Interactive Digital Entertainment Association (IIDEA), Italy’s video game trade association representing the national games industry, is excited to announce the Italian Video Game Awards, to be streamed on the opening night of First Playable in its return to in-person events, will be hosted by none other than internationally revered games industry presenters, Aoife Wilson and Elle Osili-Wood.

Attendees of the 4th edition of First Playable will be coming together in Pisa Italy, from the 5th to the 8th of July to celebrate, explore and expand the Italian games industry; but in recognition of its standing on the world stage, IIDEA are partnering with Video Games Chronicle (VGC), a leading voice in video games journalism, to share the Italian Video Game Awards ceremony internationally.

The Italian Video Game Awards ceremony will see winners announced in each of the five categories: Best Italian Game, Best Innovation, Best Italian Debut, Outstanding Italian Company and Outstanding Individual Contribution. Viewers will also be treated to a showcase of what the Italian video game industry has to offer, including some never-before-seen trailers. As the 10th edition of the awards, the Italian Video Games Awards consistently delivers in showing what an incredible part of the industry the Italian dev scene is and 2022 will be no exception.

“We’re thrilled to be returning to First Playable in person after the pandemic saw many events turn digital but, not wanting our global audience to miss out, we’re so pleased to welcome VGC as our international media partner for this year’s Italian Video Game Awards”, said Thalita Malagò, General Manager at IIDEA. “The Italian video game industry is brimming with creativity and innovation, and it’s an honour to be able to share that with the world. Having Aoife and Elle join us as hosts is a true delight and I’m sure we’re in for a brilliant show.”
