LONDON, UK, JUNE 28th, 2022. Superstring, a game studio dedicated to developing unexpected game hybrids, has today released Acolyte – an innovative AI adventure using natural language input, allowing players to converse with AI assistants called Acolytes.
Acolyte takes advantage of the Spirit AI Character Engine, allowing players to converse with their Acolyte in real time via a series of text exchanges. The full game combines non-linear storytelling with ambitious puzzles and wider ARG elements for a unique narrative that spills out of the game and into the real world. [Text Wrapping Break][Text Wrapping Break]Acolyte invites players to become an employee of Nanomax – a well-funded tech start-up looking to change the face of consumer AI. As a remote QA tester for the company, players will interact with its staff and absorb its culture, but unexplained firings, missing employees and a strange, highly-classified bug in the Acolyte code-base point to something being very wrong.
“ARG’s haven’t been explored all too much in the traditional game space,” said Superstring’s Jamin Smith “With Acolyte the intention was to build an experience that quickly left the confines of the game itself, where the realities of game world and the players real life start to blur. Acolyte has some big ideas, and I hope it resonates with narrative fans looking for something a little different.”
