The other day there was big news about all Star Wars gaming being made by Lucasfilms Games and now today we learned that it wont be the only game the group works on. Today we found out that Lucasfilms Games and Bethesda will be joining forces to make a brand new Indiana Jones game!
Though little information about the game was revealed though the teaser that Bethesda posted could have some clues on what’s going on. The following tweet the company made also give some idea on the story, being called an “original” story gives hope that we can get another brand new adventure with our favorite treasure hunter. It also appears that Todd Howard himself will be working closely with the project, but that is about where the guarantees end. The post also states it will be “some time” till we get more information, so this is likely very early on in production so we have time to speculate what this game could be about!
The most recent Indiana Jones game that was fully released besides the Lego game was a 2009’s Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kinds. It released for the Wii and Playstation 2 and also had versions on the Nintendo DS and Playstation Portable. The game was not received very well by gamers and fans of the Indiana Jones series as a whole, with many being upset about Lucasarts canceling the game being made for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Having Bethesda onboard with this project is a huge breath of fresh air and could lead to a massively huge success for both teams. Bethesda being well known for their large open world games, and even the more story focused games they have made have always been called success’. Time will tell but there is hope for a good Indiana Jones game!
