The Last of Us Part II easily walked away with the most rewards, and pretty much smoked the competition when it comes to total awards. Tonight was a huge night for the team at Naughty Dog and is a great accomplishment for them. Other titles that had huge nights were titles like Hades who walked away with a few awards under the games belt, and another game that did great was No Man’s Sky who walked away with the Best Ongoing Game! No Man’s Sky is a pretty good cinderella story in the gaming world, a title that came out and got thrashed and has pretty much come back from the brink of being known as one of the worst games ever made. Amazing job to all the teams out there that won awards!
Awards weren’t the only things being handed out tonight as all the viewers were handed out trailers all night long! We had glimpses of things like the new map coming to Among Us named “The Airship”, to other updates like Master Chief (Halo), Michonne & Daryl (The Walking Dead) coming to Fortnite. Even Smash Ultimate had an announcment to make adding Sephiroth to the Smash roster! We also got a brand new cinematic trailer for the new title from Visceral Games named “The Callisto Protocol”, and a great teaser from Bioware on the next Mass Effect game!
The Entire show had it all and was a great time to watch. We got announcements, awards, teasers and performances it was an great awards show in general in my opinion. I was sad to see that games like Destiny 2 couldn’t pull away with an award, and was also in the minority rooting for Animal Crossing to upset The Last of Us. Luckily I am not a betting man! Hopefully the game you were rooting for did better than mine!
