Today marks the 35th anniversary of everyone’s favorite 2 video game characters with mustaches! Today Nintendo honored that anniversary with some new announcements!
The Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch system is exactly what you think it is! You can play the original Super Mario on a clock, I know that seems a bit weird. However I thought it was very pleasing to look at and looks like it would be a great addition to someones house. This will be available November 13th, 2020 but will be a limited time product, so if you need your Mario clock get on it!
Super Mario 3d World + Bowsers Fury will be available December 2nd, 2020 and will be adding online multiplayer to the game. We will also be getting some new features that they did not specify during the video. The game looks fun with people playing together, and it seems like something I would like to try with others.
Now this one I have to admit I was taken aback a bit by. We got Super Mario 35, and Super Mario 35 is basically a Super Mario take on battle royals. You and 34 other people play Super Mario and try to be the last one still running at the end. I think it is interesting enough to give a shot, and we will all be able to try it on October 1st, 2020! Super Mario Bro. 35 is exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online players, and will be playable from it’s release date up until March 31st, 2021!
Mario Kart Live Home Circuit had to be one of the most cool things I have seen in a long time! Play an AR style of Mario Kart but with an actual remote controlled Mario in his cart! All while you view whats going on and control the cart through your switch. This is awesome! I cant wait to give this one a shot. Mario Kart Live will be out on October 16th, 2020.
From now until March 2021, there are many events Nintendo are holding in celebration of Mario’s 35th anniversary.
- Completing Super Mario related missions on My Nintendo, fans will have an opportunity to earn rewards, including a special pin set. Pins are available while supplies last. This promotion lasts until March 31, 2021. Learn more by visiting the official website.
- From Sept. 8 at 11 p.m. PT until Sept. 22 at 11 p.m. PT, Mario Kart Tour will have a Super Mario Kart Tour event, with special appearances by Mario (Super NES) and Donkey Kong Jr. (Super NES) from the original Super Mario Kart game.
- Historical Super Mario items and 35th anniversary-themed merchandise will be available for purchase at store.nintendo.com as well in at the Nintendo NY store.
- A 35th anniversary-themed Ninji Speedruns course is coming to the Super Mario Maker 2 game in November.
- Later this year, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will have an in-game online tournament using Super Mario series fighters, stages and items.
- A Super Mario themed Splatfest is coming to Splatoon 2 in January 2021. Keychains will also be available as a My Nintendo reward closer to the Splatfest. In addition, physical Splatfest T-shirts will be available for purchase online later today.
- In March of next year, Super Mario themed furniture will be available in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game.
There was also a slew of Super Mario themed Products that were announced.

We also got the announcement of one of my favorite cartridges I had for the SNES! Super Mario All Stars has Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3 and the lost levels and is available now! So get in there and play some old school Mario!
Then it came! The moment that we all heard about and was rumored. Nintendo announced what they call Super Mario 3D All Stars! This will bring over Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine & Super Mario Galaxy to the Nintendo Switch. With better performance and graphic fidelity the games will look great on your Switch at home. Super Mario 3D All Stars will be available on September 18th, 2020 and will have a limited retail and online edition out until March 2021. Pre-orders are available now at Nintendo.com!
I enjoyed this one! Not only for some of the new stuff that is coming out, but I am also more than hyped for the return of one of my favorite all time games. I do love going back and playing the older Mario’s but going back to the 64 version has always put a smile on my face. I cant wait to give this stuff a go!
