The love machine is back! Leisure Suit Larry is here, and ready for all the adult themed humor we are used to. The newest title to the franchise Leisure Suit Larry – Wet Dreams Don’t Dry takes everyone’s favorite ladies man from the late 80’s, and drops him right into the modern-day. With internet, smart phones, live streaming, and even hipsters all being completely new to him. Larry finds himself in a strange place, and we are here to help him get a little more comfortable in the 21st century.
To get the biggest elephant out of the room Wet Dream Don’t Dry (WDDD) definitely holds up to older titles in the franchise. The humor is spot on, and every second is full of funny one liners, and descriptions. I couldn’t find a single moment in-game where I felt like the game lost its step or pacing. Larry himself is still a funny lead character, and will keep you laughing the whole time.
On top of the humor the levels themselves are fun! With secrets hidden throughout be it in little posters, or even the actual things you can pick up. The design of the hiding spots is well thought, and honestly some are quite surprising! More than a few times I went through a level, and managed to totally miss key objects that were right in front of me, and all of that is completely just good level design. Talking about hiding key objects, the puzzles in this game are pretty good. I had more than a few that I thought we’re quite challenging, and gave me that feeling of accomplishment once I solved it.
Story wise this game tackles some modern subjects in a hilarious way. The whole seeing the modern-day through the eyes of someone straight from the 80’s is great! I loved the idea of Larry learning about smartphones, apps and even hipsters! The game tackles all of it in a hilarious way, and is some of the games highest points. Also the ladies man himself learning about the in-game version of “Tinder” is great! The story plays out amazingly well.
Coming from someone who does not have the most experience in point and click games, this one was actually a great experience! I have to say this game is highly recommended to play, everything about it definitely is all positives from me. The only negative I could possibly search for, is that the age verification at the beginning was quite harder ever for someone who is quite a bit older than the age restriction on the game. Everything else though I would say is flying colors all across the board. If you are a person that is in to point to click games, or even looking for a fun casual game I highly recommend.
