As we all know we’re coming up on the end of 2017, which means that we take moments to think back on the great memories of the year. For me most of my best moments of the year have been on stream playing games, and in this article we’re gonna be talking about my 10 favs.
10. Destiny 2
Even though Destiny 2 was nowhere near a stellar game I had tons of fun playing it. With friends and even alone I was able to spend hours sitting there just enjoying my time. This is probably the most lackluster game that is going to be on my list especially after recent events, but even with all that has gone wrong I had fun playing this one. I really hope that Bungie is able to fix the problems they have developed into their game because I still have high hopes for this one.
9. Super Mario Odyssey
A gaming list would not be complete this year without this one, and what makes it better is that I’ve barely gotten to play this. Bit and pieces here and there and I have loved everything about it! It does enough to bring back that nostalgic feel of Super Mario 64 from my childhood, and adds enough new material to make it original. Love Mario games and this is no exception.
8. Gundam Versus
Being a giant fan of the Gundam franchise I fell in love with the idea of a Gundam fighting game. Versus is fun and a great time killer but it does have a little lack of replay ability. I loved that you can basically play as every mobile suit in the history of the Gundam anime, but as for every fighting game for me I ran out of actual games I had chances to win. I personally love this game but could understand why it’s not for everyone. Gundam fan please check this one out just for the sheer ability to play as so many of your favorite suits.
7. Wipeout Omega Collection
There were a ton of games that took us down the nostalgia train, but this one really stuck with me. I loved Wipeout 64 back in my childhood and going back into the crazy racing world in HD was amazing. Now to get this clear I am not huge into racing games cause im actual trash at them, but Wipeout is a breed of its own. Mind numbing fast crazy turns speed boosts and more. Playing this one is crazy and I recommend it to anyone that wants a fun casual game that can sometimes make you lose some time.
I have never been more angry in my life than when I played Cuphead. Probably one of the best games that have come out of the indie world that I have ever played. Every level is hard and the fact that this game is called the cartoon Dark Souls is not a joke. Every jump ever shot you take you think about it before you do it, but with all these things said it doesn’t take away from how amazingly fun Cuphead is. I had so much fun even though I did in this game more than any before. If you want a fun-loving insanely difficult game that gives you the biggest feeling of accomplishment ever pick up Cuphead!
5. Ghost Recon Wildlands
At first this game wouldn’t have made my list, but 2 or 3 updates in this game took a new breath of life. Guns felt strong and sounded like you were in war, and your npc teammates actually helped you out or died. Then there is the multiplayer launch a little late it took over my world for a bit. Me and my friends loved it sadly it got buried underneath so many games I was playing at the time. I still love it a casual game here and there, but in the long run im looking forward to this games future!
4. Legend of Zelda Breathe of the Wild
My favorite all time franchise released another amazing game and I didn’t expect anything less. Due to my lack of having a switch I could barely play this, but from what I played it was everything my inner Nintendo fan boy loved! All the new additions of degradation to gear and weapons the weather and not to mention the beauty of the whole game. I cant wait to play another great Zelda game!
3. Fortnite Battle Royale
Battle Royale games took this year by storm! Starting with PUBG fever it was everywhere (on pc), and console players were a bit left out until recently. Then there came Fortnite and its free Battle Royale game mode. Instant love, me and my freinds played this for hours and hours and hours. It’s just fun and it works the cartoony style, the building and wonky controls. I will never be able to recommend this game enough to everyone especially since its free! Go out and get Fortnite Battle Royale NOW!
2. Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus
If you read my original review of this game or heard me on the Frankenculture Podcast you know my love for this game. Everything in this game hit all the right notes for me. The gore, story, shooting, controls, visuals and characters everything for me was great! Go thru the story with Terror Billy and decimate Nazi forces as you bring glory back to America! The only reason this game fell to number 2 was because of my love for horror games, and that leads us to my number 1 game of the year.
1. Resident Evil 7 (Biohazard)
Not to beat a dead horse but I could not say this wasn’t my number one game of the year. Not only was it my best streams ive ever had, but one of the best gaming experiences ive had in a long time. It had that original feel to it almost like the first time I played Resident 1 and 2, but also like Mario had so much more new stuff to it that it was its own game. I will note that the horror did fall off a small bit at the end for action, but that is what has happened to Resident Evil. Thank you for making Resident Evil great again not to mention I still cant wait to play this in VR!
2017 was an amazing year in games and there were so many more that I didn’t list, and not even more that I carried over from last year. I cannot wait to see what 2018 has in store for us! This was my top 10 list but may not be yours let me know what you guys think or if you had any games you would list in your top 10!
