The Conjuring Review

Continuing our look at horror movies in honor of Halloween, let’s look take a look at The Conjuring. The Conjuring is one of my favorite ghost movies because it’s scary and interesting to watch as well as rewatch. Based on the stories of real life demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, this movie follows them as they handle the case of a family being terrorized by demonic entity.

James Wan was already a horror vet by the time he made the conjuring and he directs the hell out of this movie and creates so many unique scares that you never feel safe watching this movie. He also recruits fantastic actors like Patrick Wilson and Vera Famiga who do a phenomenal job as the Warrens. They bring such a humanity to these paranormal researchers and they also serve as the main source of information about the haunting.

The movie utilizes it’s setting and characters perfectly to create an atmosphere that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the credits roll. It also makes you care about the family and in turn makes you more invested in their fate. I cannot recommend this movie enough. Go out and buy it, you will not be disappointed.
